Universal Water-Proof Surface Shield for Liquid Contamination Control

Water and liquid chemicals are the most common causes of surface degradation in both manufacturing and construction. Whether it is rain, plumbing leaks, paint spills, or industrial coolants, liquid ingress can cause permanent staining, oxidation, or mold growth. Water-Proof Surface Shield is an impermeable PE-based barrier designed to provide absolute isolation for high-value substrates. Unlike breathable fleeces or porous paper, this shield is a 100% "closed-loop" barrier that ensures no liquid molecules can reach the protected surface, even under pressure or during long-term submersion.

Wuxi Qida’s waterproof shields are manufactured using a high-density co-extrusion process that eliminates "pinholes"—microscopic gaps often found in cheap plastic sheets. We offer both "Self-Adhesive" versions that bond directly to the surface to prevent "wicking" at the edges, and "Non-Adhesive" heavy-duty sheets for covering large machinery. Our adhesive technology is specifically formulated to maintain its bond in wet conditions, preventing the "lifting" that often occurs with standard tapes when they get damp. For manufacturers shipping products via sea freight, our waterproof shield acts as a secondary "vapor barrier" inside the crate, protecting metal parts from the corrosive effects of salt-laden humidity and condensation (sweating) during the journey across the ocean.

  • Q: Can the film be used on a roof?
  • A: Yes, for temporary repair or protection. However, it is a temporary shield and should not be used as a permanent roofing membrane.
  • Q: Does the adhesive work if the surface is already wet?
  • A: For the best bond, the surface should be clean and dry before application. Once applied, the film is 100% waterproof and will protect against future moisture.
  • Q: How do I seal the seams between two rolls?
  • A: We recommend an overlap of at least 50mm. For a 100% watertight seal, you can tape the seams with our specialized waterproof joining tape.
  • Q: Is the film resistant to oil?
  • A: Yes, the LDPE material is resistant to most industrial oils and lubricants, making it ideal for engine room or factory floor protection.
