Metal Bending & Pressing Protection film is a specialized industrial consumable engineered to act as a dry lubricant and a physical barrier. They are built on a multi-layer co-extruded LLDPE platform that offers exceptional elongation (up to 500%) and puncture resistance. A critical feature of our film is its "surface slip" characteristic; we calibrate the coefficient of friction (COF) on the outer layer to ensure the metal slides smoothly against the die, reducing the heat generated by friction and extending the life of your expensive tooling.   • Q: Can this film be used for "Deep Drawing"?
  • A: Yes, but you must select our high-thickness (100 micron+) and high-elongation version. The film acts as a "second skin" that deforms along with the metal blank into the die.
  • Q: Does the film leave marks on the metal after the high pressure of bending?
  • A: No. Qida's adhesive is specifically formulated to be pressure-stable. It does not squeeze out or embed into the metal surface even under several tons of pressure.
  • Q: Will the film melt during high-speed punching?
  • A: Our PE film has a high heat resistance relative to standard tapes. While the heat of a punch is intense, it is momentary. The film typically remains intact around the hole.
  • Q: How do I choose the right adhesion?
  • A: For smooth stainless steel, a medium tack (80g-120g) is sufficient. For "mill finish" or slightly rougher metals, a higher tack (150g+) is required to maintain a bond during the stretch.
  • Q: Is this a replacement for liquid lubricants?
  • A: In many light-to-medium bending applications, yes. It provides enough "slip" to act as a dry lubricant. For extreme deep drawing, it can be used in conjunction with liquid lubricants.
