Pre-coated metals (PCM), such as color-coated aluminum and galvanized steel, are the primary materials for the appliance and construction industries. These metals arrive at the factory with a finished paint or lacquer coating that must survive intense mechanical forming, including bending, punching, and roll forming. Pre-coated Metal Surface Film is a high-tenacity protective layer designed to act as both a scratch barrier and a dry lubricant. Without this film, the "superior" finish of a refrigerator door or a roof panel would be marred by tool marks and friction scratches, leading to a high scrap rate and customer dissatisfaction.
Wuxi Qida’s films for pre-coated metals are engineered to bond perfectly with various coating chemistries, including Polyester (PE), Polyurethane (PU), and PVDF. The challenge with painted metals is the "interaction" between the film's adhesive and the paint's cross-linking agents. If the adhesive is too aggressive, it can "lift" the paint or cause a change in gloss level.
